The power of a tweet: Commodore raises *more* money for charity

November marks the return of Movember, a month dedicated to prostate and testicular cancer awareness as well as donations. NHL players are most famous for their esteemed mustaches grown throughout the month, and their efforts raising money for the charity. If you are interested in donating to Movember click here.

Montreal Canadiens’ forward Brendan Gallagher took to Twitter to announce his own donation for the “Movember” cause. In addition to the money raised from the Canadiens organization, Gallagher would add another $250 dollars per win during the month. Former NHL defenseman Mike Commodore (currently playing in Russia’s KHL) called out Gallagher, and well the rest is history:

Brandon Prust is a Montreal Canadiens veteran chiming in with Commodore:

As of 5:00 PM ET, this is where the bar was set as far as betting. Commodore and Prust are pushing Gallagher to step up to the plate a.k.a Veteran Leadership:

Montreal Canadiens star defenseman (loved by many, including me) P.K. Subban chimes in on the Commodore joke:

One last laugh from Gallagher’s landlord and Montreal Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges:

There is only one way to end this post… With a picture of Mike Commodore covered in the money he plans to donate to Movemeber…
